 Dr. Brett Donaldson at the Katy ARTreach "HUB of our Community" event @ Tradition Bank ABOUT KATY ARTREACHMENTORING THROUGH ARTKaty ARTReach pairs art mentors with Children at Risk, Troubled Youth, Families in Crisis and the Elderly as identified through our school districts and local social service organizations in the Katy/Fort Bend County area.
Mentoring Through Art can become the vehicle for establishing a long term and caring relationship between a mentor and a child. Katy ARTReach Mentors provide support and encouragement to children at risk, the troubled youth, families in crisis and the elderly through weekly one-on-one sessions and small group workshops. Art can become an avenue for expressing emotion, as well as a positive and creative outlet for children and adults in need. ARTS in EDUCATIONKaty ARTReach provides Art Educational support to under-served school communities, social service organizations and foster care facilities supporting troubled youth and children at risk. Katy ARTReach Arts in Education Program incorporates weekly art classes, in house theater, dance and performing art programs, artist in residence and composer in residence programs, field trips to art museums and local artist studios as well other opportunities as available through collaboration and partnerships with community non-profit art organizations and Katy ARTReach art business partners. |
